If you have an existing overhead or underground line and you want to add ducts and/or conductors, communication cables, or gas pipes, you can do so in the following ways:
- Use the commands AUDADDTOSEGMENT and AUDADDTODUCT.
- Add to an existing line by snapping a start point and an end point on the existing line. Be sure to snap the start point and end point carefully so that the Connected To icon is displayed. You do not need to snap every vertex. The program determines the shortest path through existing segments along the pathway.
- Select both container and line features in
Feature Info, click the Add button
on the container to add the lines to the container. The line feature's geometry follows the segment's if they are different. For more information, see

The new line is added to the existing segment and can be seen when you display Feature Info on the segment.
