The Model Builder wizard is used to
update the network and control using data in a pre-defined schema in the SQL Server. This wizard also allows you to allocate customer points to locations in the network. Also, this process makes it easier for you to import multiple tables at once, instead of importing them one at a time when using the Open Data Import Center.
To update the network and control using model builder:
- Right-click the network in the model group.
- From the context menu, select Update
Using Model Builder.
- In the
Model Builder dialog, click Connect tp SQL Server. This opens the Select SQL Server dialog.
- In the
Select SQL Server dialog, input the information and then select OK.
- In the
Model Builder dialog, update the fields as you require.
- If you want to update the control or demand diagram from the SQL Server, drop one in the Control box.
- Click Next to open the Expand Short Links dialog.
- In the
Expand Short Links dialog, update the fields as you require.
- Click Next to open the
Allocate to Network page. Use this dialog to allocate customer points to locations in the network.
- Click Next. A progress bar entitled Scanning Unallocated Items may appear. This then opens the
View Unallocated page.
- Click Next to display the
Apply Page of the wizard.
- Click Finish.
