In the Fiber Placement section of the Strategy dialog box, define the number of tows to use, and the amount of material that is allowed to overlap before being cut. Overlap values are percentages of tow width. They are only used if
Enable Mesh Trimming is selected in the Mesh section of the Strategy dialog box.
Fiber Placement controls are not available if propagation mode is set to Fabric Draping.
-
Number Of Tows: The number of tows you want per band of material. This depends on the machine you will use. Autodesk recommends that you pick a value that is not machine-specific, such as 8, which is likely supported by several machine types. This way, if you want to run analyses on a different machine, you do not have to change this strategy.
-
Boundary Tow Overlap: Percentage of tow width allowed to overlap ply boundaries. For example, if the limit is 50%, and a course will extend beyond the ply boundary by 51% of the tow width, the material is cut to respect the 50% limit.
-
Course Tow Overlap: Percentage of tow width allowed to overlap adjacent courses.
