About Strategies

A strategy is a set of properties that define how you want to manufacture a particular part or ply. These properties can include mesh warp and weft, propagation mode, winding direction, overlap, tape cutting, and more. You can set up multiple strategies for a ply, and you can create a strategy for one or more plies at once. Set property values to work with the type of machine you have available for manufacturing. Once you have created a strategy, you can set up and use analyses to refine it.

Follow the steps described in this help to create and set up strategies and their parameters.

  1. Create a seed point before you start.
  2. Create a strategy or strategies; this includes selecting the material packaging to use, setting the propagation mode, and selecting the seed point.
  3. Set mesh properties.
  4. Set fiber placement properties (for all but Fabric Draping mode).
  5. Set course parameters (for all but Fabric Draping mode).
  6. Set draping values (only for Fabric Draping mode).
  7. Enable or show strategies
  8. Troubleshoot strategies
