Introduction
The following tutorial provides step-by-step instructions to analyze a fiber-filled part using Advanced Material Exchange, and ANSYS (both Workbench and APDL will be used). The radiator tank part is made with Extron 3019 HS glass fiber-reinforced material.
The radiator tank model has been imported into Moldflow so a Fill + Pack analysis can be run to determine the orientations of the fiber-filled part. An ANSYS Workbench model is now ready to be created so loads and boundary conditions can be applied to the part.
Once the models are created in Moldflow and ANSYS Workbench, we use Advanced Material Exchange to map the fiber orientations onto the structural model. At this point, we export the results for use in a structural analysis with ANSYS.
