Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed a bug in BIM Properties panel where we weren't showing some Revit Family Categories.
  2. Fixed a bug in the webapp where Model State Name was being cutoff after dot in the RFO dialog Checkout Page.
  3. Fixed a bug in the Revit Insert dialog where representation selection stayed when switching between Configure and Select tabs even if the representation was not available for insertion.

Informed Design Revit Add-in Replace command sometimes fails to replace using another existing Variant and throws a message asking you to try again. Exit the Replace Command. Delete the Revit Family Cache created and managed by the Informed design add-in (i.e the folder and all files contained in C:\users<user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\MID\Revit\2024\CachedData). Then retry the Replace command.

What's New

  1. Static Content:

    • Static products can now be published and worked with using our Informed Design workflow.
    • When publishing a static product, adopting parameters is optional.
    • In Revit, we can insert the static variants the same way as configurable variants and change releases.
    • In the webapp, we can generate outputs for the static variants as per the usual workflow.

  2. Tabs on Form Layout:

    • We can now add tabs to our form in the Inventor add-in to make grouping of the parameters more intuitive.

What's New

ACC Bridge Integration with Informed Design:

  • Users can now publish their products to bridged ACC folders in Inventor.
  • In Revit, the bridged folders can be accessed in the Insert dialog and the products can then be inserted into the Revit project.
  • In the webapp, users can generate outputs for these variants.

Generate Outputs Dialog:

  • On the webapp, when selecting some variants and clicking 'Generate Outputs' button, a new 'Generate Outputs' dialog will now open with three steps to complete.
  • In the 'File Types' step, file types are categorized and users will be able to select the desired outputs.
  • In the 'Upload location' step, user can select any desired folder that they have Edit or higher access to for uploading the outputs.
  • In the 'Checkout' step, user can see their Upload location and File Types selections and change them again if needed by going back to the respective step.
  • If user has the required flex tokens, on clicking 'Submit request', the user will be redirected to the outputs table.

Applicable Property for Adopted Parameters:

  • For the adopted parameters in the Product Definition, users now have the option of selecting 'Applicable' property in the Input rules workspace.
  • When 'Applicable' property is set to false, users will not be able to edit the value of the parameter and the value will change to an em-dash (—). This will also be reflected in the variant tables in Revit dialogs and product details panel in the webapp.

  1. Fixed a bug in the BIM Properties Panel where Illegal Characters were seen for some omniclass titles.
  2. Fixed a bug in the BIM Properties Panel where parameters could be added multiple times.
  3. Fixed a bug in the BIM Definition Tree where visibility state of placement plane did not update properly.
  4. Fixed a bug where errors were seen in the Inventor Add-in if Family Type Name was assigned a double value.

What's New

BIM Definitions Add-in for Inventor and Integration with Informed Design workflow:

  • BIM Definitions Add-in:
    • Users can now set BIM properties such as Behaviour, Revit Family Category, Family Name and Family Type name.
    • Users can also add placement plane, insertion point, UCS and MEP connectors to the model as required.
  • Integration with Informed Design Workflow:
    • Users can no longer set Revit Category and Family name in the Outputs tab of the Product Definition. They have to be specified in the BIM Properties found in the BIM Definitions add-in.
    • Products published with the BIM content on Inventor can be successfully inserted into Revit using the Informed Design add-ins.
    • Outputs for the variants can then be successfully generated in the Informed Design Webapp.

Inventor Add-in

  1. On creating a new release/product, the "Create new release or new product" popup has been removed to simplify the publishing process.
  2. When a folder is selected, but the Product name used has already been published to another folder, an error icon and message now appears telling users that the product name is not unique and where it was published previously.

WebApp

  1. Version release date and time can now be seen under 'Version Information'.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed a bug in both Inventor and Revit add-in dialogs where error messages were observed after the user left the dialogs open and inactive for a while.
  2. Fixed a bug in the Revit Add-in Insert Dialog where the Insert button was not active in the New tab of Insert dialog when creating an already existing variant.
  3. Fixed a bug in the Inventor Product Definitions dialog where the values were not showing up properly when there was an increment rule of less than 1.
  4. Fixed a bug in the Inventor Product Definitions dialog where when multivalued parameters had duplicate values, they would also show up in the parameter dropdowns.
  5. Fixed a bug in the Inventor Product Definitions dialog where when codeblocks were imported, a copy of the existing codeblocks was sent to the bin.

What's New

Inventor

  1. Users now have the option of adding release notes to a release while publishing. The release notes can be up to 500 characters including URLs.
  2. When publishing releases, users can also see the expected release number of that product after selecting the account and project to publish to.

Revit

  1. Users will be able to see the release notes added to product releases in both the Insert and Replace dialog. These are read-only and cannot be edited.
  2. URLs in the release notes are clickable and will be opened in a new browser tab. 3 Refresh button has been added to the variant tables in the Insert and Replace dialog to allow user to refresh the list of variants seen in the table.

Webapp

  1. Users can see the release notes of the selected releases in the Release details panel in the Releases tab.
  2. The release notes can also be edited in the webapp.

Other Features

  1. Inputs seen in the variant table in Revit Insert dialog, Replace dialog and the webapp will now match the input parameters set in the Form workspace in Inventor during publish.

  1. Users can now organize the input parameters in the form in collapsible groups that will be reflected in the form preview.
  2. Users also have the option of naming the form and groups.
  3. Once published, the form organization will be reflected in the Revit Insert and Replace dialogs for that release.

Revit

  1. The Insert and Replace dialogs now have updated UI for better user experience.
  2. While generating variants in the Replace dialog, users can now minimize/close the dialog and then open the dialog again after to replace the variant.

Webapp

  1. Users can see an updated folder structure UI in the Upload Outputs location dialog for ACC/BIM360 projects and Fusion projects that have folder-level permissions. Folders for which users don't have minimum Edit permissions will have a locked folder icon and folders for which users have Edit or higher permissions will have a regular folder icon.
  2. In the Outputs table, users can now see a new 'Upload Location' column which will let the users know the status of the upload while uploading and the Project/Folder where the output was uploaded to after a successful upload.

  1. For Boolean parameters, radio buttons have been replaced with toggle switches. This can be seen in the form preview under the Rules tab on the Inventor Add-in, and the Insert and Replace dialogs on Revit.

Revit

  1. The Revit add-in now contains a new Update Content button that provides a list of instances users have inserted in the Revit project that have a newer release available.
  2. Users can click on an instance in the table that has a newer release, and click on the 'Replace' button that will bring the user to the Replace dialog where they can change the release of the instance.
  3. Users can also refresh the instances table to get the most up-to-date list of outdated instances.

Webapp

  1. Users can now upload outputs to Fusion Team projects that they have permissions to.
  2. Users also have the option to create a new sub-folder while selecting the upload location.

  1. Users can now see an updated user interface for the outputs upload dialog. All the projects that the user has access to will be listed along with their account names.
  2. Once a target folder is selected, users can also see updated icons for the different account types in the selected folder path. To collapse a long folder path, an ellipsis icon will appear after the root folder, clicking on it will expand to show the full path.
  3. Archived projects will no longer appear in the projects selection list.

  1. Create a Product Definition and Publish Products
    • Create a new product definition based on the active Inventor part or assembly model.
    • Edit existing product definitions to publish new products or incremented new product releases.
    • Add parameters and define the rules associated with them.
    • Specify the output types that can be generated from the Published Product.
    • Publish the product to any ACC or BIM360 account and project you have membership and edit permissions for.


Revit Add-in

  1. Insert Variants of a Product
    • Choose products published into ACC or BIM360 projects.

  1. Generate Outputs
    • Open and view Revit Project models that include the Product variant instances added in Revit.
    • Select variant instances and generate outputs of any type made available for the published Product  (Outputs are saved to the ACC or BIM360 project folder specified).
  2. Manage Releases
    • Manage Product Releases by setting or resetting the Status to Active or Obsolete and specify which Active Release is the Default.
