Use the Android Mobile App
Use your mobile device to view and manage documents and models, and create and manage markups, issues, and RFIs. Download the Android BIM 360 app here.
View the Project List
Tap , and then tap the name of the current project, to view the list of all your projects. In this list view you can search for a project by name, and see the most recently viewed projects.
View Documents or Models
Two parent folders are created for every project in BIM 360, the Plans and Project Files folders:
- Plans: Typically contains the latest set of construction documents, in both 2D document and 3D model formats.
- Project Files: Typically contains project documents including design data, photos, reports, schedules, budgets, and requirements documents.
To view a document or model:
Navigate to the folder in the Plans or Project Files tab.
Tap
for a List view or
for a Grid view of the files in the folder.
Tip: If a document or model is assigned to a set, then the set name is displayed.Tap to open a document or model.
While viewing a document:
- Tap the left/right arrows to navigate between documents.
- Tap
to navigate to recently viewed documents.
- Tap outside the Recently Viewed panel to close it.
- Tap X to dismiss.
- When viewing a 3D model, tap
to navigate through the model as if you are walking through it.
When viewing a 3D model:
- Tap
> Model Browser, to quickly find a specific area of a model, and view its properties.
View Hyperlinks
Follow hyperlinks to access 2D documents and 3D models in the BIM 360 mobile app, or to navigate to external pages or resources.
The following types of hyperlinks are available:
Automatic: Represented by a green rectangular area, automatic hyperlinks lead to 2D documents or 3D models within the same folder. These hyperlinks are created automatically when you upload RVT, DWG, or DWF 2D sheets.
Tip: When you tap the green highlighted area of the hyperlink, a preview of the sheet containing callout detail is displayed.Manual: Represented by a blue rectangular area, manual hyperlinks lead to 2D documents or 3D models located in different folders. These hyperlinks are manually added by the customer while viewing a document.
Tip: When you tap the blue highlighted area of the hyperlink, a preview of the linked document is displayed.Imported: Link to documents created in third-party PDF editing software such as Acrobat Reader or BlueBeam, or in Revit. Imported hyperlinks lead to external web pages or link between documents or pages of the same document.
Create and Manage Markups, Issues, and RFIs
Tap to open a document or model.
Tap
> Markups/Issues/RFIs. The following features are available:
- Markups. Create and manage design review markups in 2D documents and 3D models. See Markups (Android) to learn more.
- Issues. Create and manage issues related to 2D documents. View issues related to 3D models. See Issues (Android) to learn more.
- RFIs. View the list of all available RFIs associated with 2D documents and 3D models, at a project or document level. View the activity in RFIs. See RFIs (Android) to learn more.
Tip: On the viewer, tap square pins to view RFIs, or round pins to view issues associated with the document. The color of a pin in the viewer corresponds to the status of an RFI or an issue.
Show or Hide Markups, Issues, and RFIs
- Tap to open a document or model.
- Tap
.
- In the Visibility panel at the bottom, toggle visibility on/off as needed.
- Tap outside the Visibility panel to close it.
- Tap X to dismiss.
Download or Remove a Document
You can download a document for offline viewing, and remove it from your device when it's no longer needed.
Tap
to download.
When a download is complete,
indicates that a document is available for offline viewing.
Select the document and tap
.
Tap Remove from device.
View a PDF Document
You can view PDF documents, such as specifications, within your Project Files using a native mobile PDF viewer.
- Tap Project Files.
- Select the folder containing the PDF.
- Tap the PDF to view it.
- Tap X to dismiss.
