Assemble Handover Package
To assemble a package to export from Handover, you can choose to pull various Autodesk Build project data and include files in your package:
Configure Autodesk Build Project Data
By default, the folders displayed in the Handover tab are:
- Closed submittals record
- RFIs
- Sheets
- Submittals (O&M Manuals, Warranty/Guarantee, and other types)
- Issues
These folders are synced folders that pull the most up-to-date data from those respective Autodesk Build tools so that you can export them into a package. You can tell that these folders are different by the cog on the folder icon.
First, to customize the data that is automatically synced into these folders from Autodesk Build:
Click Sync Settings.
Tip:You can also access the Sync Settings by hovering over one of the synced folders. Click the More menu icon
at the far right of each folder row and select Sync Settings.
In the panel that appears, click a section name and see what is included.
Forms: This folder allows you to include all forms or Closed and Archived forms only.
Issues: This folder allows you to include all issues or Closed issues only.
Sheets: This folder will include current versions of all sheets and allows you to choose Published markups only or Published markups linked to RFIs only.
RFIs: This folder includes all Closed RFIs.
Submittals: Handover: This allows you to set the types of submittals that will be included in the Submittals folder. O&M Manuals and Warranty/Guarantee submittal types are automatically selected.
- To add other submittal types, click into the field and select from the options available.
- To remove a submittal type, click the "x" icon
.
Submittals: Records of Closed: All Closed Submittals will be in the Closed submittals record folder.
If you don't want to export certain project data, click Remove next to it. To add project data back in, click Add.
Click Save.
To see what is in each folder, click the arrow next to the name of the folder to expand it and view its contents.
If there isn’t any information within the folder, it will show that no closed items are available to display. These folders are always synced and any changes to this data from Autodesk Build will be shown here, such as new closed submittals or added sheets.
Include References
Optionally, at the top of the Sync Settings panel, you can click to toggle on Include references and attachments for unselected project items. This will include any supported references and attachments not added in Handover to the export.
For example, if you choose to remove RFIs from your export and your export includes a sheet with a reference to a closed RFI, the closed RFI will be included in your export. The RFI will be in a separate “Reference and Attachments” folder. This provides offline access to relevant references and attachments without having to navigate back to Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Supported references and attachments are those from the project items available in Handover, which include Sheets, RFIs, and Submittals.
- Any links to unsupported references and attachments will be disabled to prevent project administrators from encountering expired links.
- While references to RFIs are supported, RFI attachments are not supported.
Add Files
You can add files from the Files tool or create a folder that you want to export into your package directly in Handover.
In the Handover tab, click Add.
Select Add from Files or Create folder.
Add from Files: Your project files from the Files tool will appear in the window. Select files and folders to add. To select all files in a range, click the first file and press and hold the Shift key, then click the last file.
Tip:If you select a folder with subfolders or files, the subfolders and files will not be movable. Select the nested subfolders and files rather than selecting the top-level folder. This way each individual subfolder and file are added to Handover, and you can move them around.
Note:- From now on, if any changes are made to the source files or folders, they will be synced and updated here.
- If a file or folder shares a name with an existing file or folder, a (1) will be appended to the end of the name.
- If a file or folder shares a name with one of the default folders (RFIs, Sheets, Submittals), adding your files will fail. Change the name and try again.
Create folder: A folder will be immediately created on the page. Enter a folder name and press Enter on your keyboard to save.
The contents of the exported package will be in the order shown in the Handover tool. By default, Handover applies an alpha numeric order with all folders first and then all files.
If you want to manually order the contents of your package, learn how in Work with Manual Ordering.
