RFIs in Unbridged projects
Removing the Bridge between projects
When you remove a Bridge connection between projects, the following occurs:
Important: Bridge's policy is not to delete items that were bridged. To align with that, RFIs that were shared through Bridge will remain as is when the Bridge is removed, even if their status changes.
- RFIs that were previously shared through Bridge remain view-only.
- Incoming RFIs will show the "incoming" arrow of the Bridge icon in gray instead of black.
- Outgoing RFIs will show the "outgoing" arrow of the Bridge icon in gray instead of black.
Re-connecting the Bridge
If you remove a Bridge connection and later re-establish it:
- If the same RFI that was previously shared through Bridge is shared again, it behaves as any re-sharing of an RFI - the fields are updated, references/attachments updated, and a new summary activity log is created.
- The status or any other details of the RFI are not automatically synced when the Bridge connection is created again.
- Any RFI that was previously shared through Bridge is not considered bridged anymore after the projects are reconnected, and would only be considered bridged if the same RFI is re-shared through Bridge. This means no status updates will be synced automatically, even after the reconnection of the projects, and filtering by "Bridged?" filters will not find those RFIs.
Stop sharing RFIs
When resharing an RFI that was previously shared through Bridge:
- Projects removed from the "Share with projects" field are considered "unshared" and will not receive automatic status updates or any other updates
- When all target projects are removed in the same Close RFI/Share action, a green toast notification appears stating: "No bridged projects will receive the updated RFI"
- Only projects in the latest "Share with projects" list are considered bridged and will receive new field values, references/attachments, and automatic status updates if the RFI is reopened
- On the source project (or the target project that shared the RFI through Bridge to a secondary target project), the outgoing arrow of the Bridge icon for unshared RFIs changes from black to gray
- On the target project, the incoming arrow of the Bridge icon for unshared RFIs changes from black to gray
