The plugin will add the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools to the Inventor ribbon for a locally-installed instance of Autodesk Inventor.
In most cases, when you install Autodesk InfraWorks, the Infrastructure Modeler plugin for Autodesk Inventor will be automatically installed as well.
- Uninstall Autodesk InfraWorks if it is already installed.
- Install Autodesk Inventor.
Note: Autodesk Inventor 2018 and 2017, both Pro and LT, are supported. Autodesk Inventor Pro supports workflows for creating assemblies and also leverages iLogic, while Autodesk Inventor LT does not.
- Install Autodesk InfraWorks.
The Infrastructure Modeler plugin for Autodesk Inventor is installed with InfraWorks, and will be automatically added to your Autodesk Inventor instance.
You can now access the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools through the Environment tab in the Autodesk Inventor Ribbon.
To install the Inventor Infrastructure Modeler plugin manually
Note: If you installed the newest release of Autodesk InfraWorks before you installed Autodesk Inventor, there is an option to install the Infrastructure Modeler plugin manually.
- Access your available products from the Autodesk Access application or manage.autodesk.com.
- On the All Products and Services page, locate Civil 3D and click View Details.
- Select your product year from the tabs just below the Civil 3D description.
- Under Available Downloads, select the Extensions tab.
- Select the Inventor Infrastructure Modeler Plugin and click Download.
- Once the download is complete, run the installer and follow all of its directions.
- You can now access the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools through the Environment tab in the Autodesk Inventor Ribbon.
To access the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools
- Close Autodesk InfraWorks.
- Open Autodesk Inventor.
- Click the Environments Tab in the Autodesk Inventor Ribbon.
- Click Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities.
- The Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools are now available to use.
