To review or modify shape details

Choose a parametric shape from the library or add a new parametric model as a shape template.

1. Add a part family or select an existing one. See: To add or modify a part family.
2. Modify parts family properties.
3. Click the Shapes tab in the Parts Editor. By default, Parametric shape from library is selected, and the library of parametric shapes for the selected part family type display.
4. Hover you cursor over a shape to display a schematic preview.
   
5. Click to select a shape. Once you have selected a shape for the parts family, click Next.
   
   Note: You can also click New Shape Template to add a new parametric model using an .IPT parametric model file that was exported from Autodesk Inventor using the Part Shape Utilities tools. Once you add a new parametric part shape template to the Shapes tab, you can use that parametric shape for your part family.
6. Review or modify detailed part family properties.
