Extended Properties FAQ
Why is my extended property not visible?
When working with Revit files, if you specified a category to apply a property to, it's possible that the category has been filtered out of the model using the model object filters. Check for any applied filters in the Model browser panel in the viewer. If you still can't see your properties, contact your project administrator to check your permissions.
Why can't I edit an extended property?
You might not have the appropriate role and/or permissions to edit properties. Refer to Permissions and Roles for Extended Properties for more information.
Why can't I add an extended property value to model objects in bulk?
It is possible to select multiple model objects and set an extended property value for them all in bulk. If this isn't working, try checking that all of the selected objects support the extended property.
Can I delete an extended property?
Project administrators can delete extended properties. Deleting a property removes it from all the model objects that it's applied to.
Are there any known limitations with extended properties?
Yes, extended properties are currently available as a public beta release, and there are some known limitations:
This release is currently only available for US and EMEA projects.
If you apply object colors based on extended properties, these won't be reflected when saving a view to Docs.
If you pop the Object Table out to another browser window, the Add properties and Manage properties options don't work as expected. Use the options on the Properties panel instead, or restore the Object Table into the main window (click the X on the popped-out window).
You can only edit an extended property value for up to 10,000 model objects at a time.
Extended properties are not available for use when creating object exclusions.
