Use the options on the ToolMinder > Setup Assembly > Import Setup Assembly menu to import a solid model file containing a setup assembly into PartMaker.
- Select the type of file you want to import by selecting the corresponding menu option from the menu:
X_T Parasolid
X_B Parasolid
SLDPRT
IPT
PRO/E
STEP
PartMaker displays a dialog for you to specify the location and name of the file you want to import.
- When you have selected the solid model file you want, click Open to import it into the Solids window. If the Solids window is currently in Part mode, PartMaker automatically changes to Setup Assembly mode.
Using the Solids > Utilities > Paste Solid Modeloption, you can paste solids from Autodesk PowerShape into PartMaker's Solids window to create a setup assembly.
Note: The solid models you use to represent the setup assembly must meet the requirements listed in Creating solid models for setup assemblies.
