The Project Management Window

Selecting a Host Workstation

Host Computer option

Select a host workstation or project server to display its projects; localhost is the current workstation.

The Hosts drop-down shows the Local workstation and Remote workstations, if any. Project servers are available under the Remote section.

To refresh the hosts list, select Refresh Hosts List.

Displaying Projects

Projects can be displayed in a List or Tiles view. Select the display mode of your choice using the button at the top left of the Projects panel.

List View

The List view displays multiple pieces of information at once.

Column Shows
Name The name of the project.
Creation Date The date on which the project was created.
Modified Date The date on which the project was last opened.
Resolution The resolution of the project.
Version The version of the application in which the project was created.
Errors Any errors preventing the project from being opened.
Description A description of the project.

Note: This column is hidden by default.
UUID The UUID of the project.

Note: This column is hidden by default.

The display of the List view can be modified by sorting, reordering, showing, and hiding columns.

  • Sort: Click a column header.
  • Reorder: Grab a column by clicking its header and dragging it to the left or right.
  • Show and Hide: Open the context menu of a column from its header and select which columns to display.

Tiles View

The Tiles view displays thumbnails used to identify the projects.

A thumbnail can be set using one of these methods:

  • Click Add Thumbnail or Change Thumbnail in the Create New Project panel and Manage Project panel, respectively. A PNG, JPEG, or GIF file can be selected from the file browser. Tiles present images using a 16:9 ratio, but an image of any ratio can be selected.
  • Inside the application, select Set Frame as Project Thumbnail in the Thumbnail submenu of a clip's context menu.
Note: It is not mandatory to associate a thumbnail with a project. The Flame fish logo is displayed for projects with no thumbnails.

Use the Size field to change the size of each thumbnail. Use the Sort and Ascending/Descending options to sort the projects.

Information Window

The detailed information of the project under the cursor in the Tiles view can be viewed in the Information Window opened using the Alt + Click keyboard shortcut.

Filtering Projects

Use one of these filtering methods to alter which projects are displayed in the List or Tiles views.

  1. Enter a string in the Filter field at the top of the Projects panel to display only the projects that contain this string in their names.
  2. Select one of the All Versions, Current Version, and Recent options.
Select: To:
All Versions Display all projects, independent of the application version in which they were created.
Current Version Display projects created in the current version of the application.
Recent Display all project opened in the last 14 days, independent of the application version in which they were created.

Identifying the Project Currently Opened

When the Project Management window is opened from the application menu inside the application, the current project is identified with a blue status button. It is possible to modify settings for the current project using the Manage Project panel, but it is not possible to delete the current project.

Opening and Closing the Window with a Keyboard Shortcut

Use the Project Management keyboard shortcut to open and close the Project Management window inside the application. By default, the keyboard shortcut is assigned to Ctrl + Alt + F4 in all keyboard shortcuts profiles.

Note: The Project Management window cannot be opened from the Effects environment.

Notifications Panel

The Welcome Screen, previously used to highlight the new features of a release, has been deprecated and replaced by a panel integrated on the right side of the Project Management window.

Two types of notifications are displayed inside the panel:

  • Highlights of a new release.

  • Notification of a new release becoming available.

The Notification panel is automatically opened the first time a new version of the Flame Family applications is launched and when a new release is available. Click the X button at the top right of the panel to close it. To reopen the panel, click the orange button.
