About demand scaling via transfer nodes
This type of demand scaling is different to the one that can be implemented via the Demand window in that it also affects projection runs and implies altering node data.
Scaling is performed by linking a transfer node to a telemetry feed where the user specifies whether to use the flow for the last week, month, year, etc., or the forecast flow from an external database. The flow values are obtained for the specified time (x days ago, x weeks ago, x days in the past or future, x weeks in the past or future). The transfer node is linked via the Flows field.
To link to telemetry, it is necessary to set the mode of operation to Forecast in the Fields window for the transfer node of interest. The Forecast Unit and Forecast Value fields must then be specified as they define the exact time period at which the link to the telemetry is to be made.
The date/time vs value pairs obtained from the telemetry database for that time period will populate the
flow data of the node
. The data array or profile can be displayed to the user by clicking the
button in the
Default column for the
Flows
row.
