Opening another database as guest

Administrators can open a guest on-premise and cloud database for the purpose of copying data between databases.

To open a cloud database as a guest:

  1. Select File | Open | Open another database. The Open/Create dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the Cloud option. The Open Another Database dialog opens.
  3. Select the Hub from the drop-down list.
  4. Select the name of the required database from the Database drop-down list.
  5. Click OK.

To open a workgroup on-premise database as a guest:

  1. Select File | Open | Open another database. The Open/Create dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the Workgroup option. The Open Another Database dialog opens.
  3. If there is not already a connection to the server, connect to the server.
  4. In the Database section, select the group (if any) that contains the standalone database, then select the database from the drop-down list.
  5. Click OK.

To open a standalone on-premise database as a guest:

  1. Select File | Open | Open another database. The Open/Create dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the Standalone option. The Open Another Database dialog opens.
  3. Click Browse.
  4. In the Open dialog, find the standalone database, then click Open.
  5. Click OK.
