Summary
When routing pipe, the compass helps you to specify precise angles. You can turn the compass on and off, change the compass size, and set angle snap settings.
The compass orients to match the current routing direction and plane. When you specify angles using the compass, you can specify angles relative to the current routing direction.
List of Prompts
The following prompts are displayed.
Enter a compass settings option [On/OFf/Tickmarks/Snapincrement/TOlerancerouting/compassDiameter/Color]:
On
Displays the compass.
Off
Hides the compass.
Tickmarks
Sets the tickmark increment angle. You can also turn tickmarks on and off.
- On
-
Displays tickmarks on the compass.
- Off
-
Hides tickmarks on the compass.
- Tick mark increment
-
Sets the angle between tickmarks to display on the compass.
Snap increment
Sets the compass angle snap. The compass snaps to the nearest multiple of the snap increment when you specify an angle. For example: a snap increment of 90 restricts angles to 0, 90, 180, and 270.
- On
-
Turns on angle snap.
- Off
-
Turns off angle snap.
- Snap increments
-
Sets the angle snap increment. This value is used to restrict pipe direction when routing pipe using the PLANTPIPEADD command.
Tolerancerouting
Sets the fitting and pipe weld tolerance angle. When you connect to another pipe segment or fitting, the angle of connection must not deviate by more than the stated tolerance angle.
- On
-
Turns on fitting tolerance.
- Off
-
Turns off fitting tolerance.
- Tolerance angle
-
Sets the fitting tolerance angle (for example: three degrees). This option displays following the On option.
Note: The tolerance for distance (OffsetTolerance) is specified in the project DefaultConnectorsConfig file for each joint type. By default, the tolerance is 0 (with an epsilon 1E-006).
Compass diameter
Sets the compass diameter in drawing area pixels.
Color
Sets the compass color using the Select Color dialog box.
