Work with Takt Time Settings
Compare your design process against a specified target takt time.
Enter a specified takt time target that can be applied in reports and line balancing activities to clearly understand how your design process compares against the set target takt time.
Defining a takt time target
Define the takt time and then run a simulation to view a report of that data.
- Define the takt time target you would like to use for line balancing.
Takt Time = available production time per day / customer demand per day
For more information about takt time, refer to About Line Balancing and Takt Time.
- Select Simulation Settings from the User Interface drop-down menu.
- In the Settings dialog, select a unit of measure from the Takt Time settings to accommodate the maximum amount of time a product needs to be produced to satisfy the customer demand.
You can also change the unit of takt time in the data view of your line balancing chart.
For example, if you set your unit of takt time measure in the Simulations Settings to 3 minutes, and you set your unit of takt time measure to seconds in the Line Balancing chart, you see a takt time reading in your line balancing chart of 180 seconds.
