To dimension distances between circles

Calculate the distances between separate or nested circles.

  1. From Home tab > Report panel > Dimensions, select one of the following:
    • Inner & Outer Two Circles
    • Wall Thickness Two Circles
  2. Specify values for the options that follow. These options apply to both circle types.
See Dimension dialog options reference for definitions of general options used in multiple dialogs.
    • Name
    • Use nominals
    • Output in report
    • Simple measures behaviour
  3. Specify additional options, depending on whether you are dimensioning nested or separate circles.
    • Inner & Outer Two Circles
      • Visible
      • Reference circle 1 and Reference circle 2 — Select the circles between which you want to calculate the distances.
      • Inside distance — Enter the nominal and tolerances for the inside distance between the circles.
      • Outside distance — Enter the nominal and tolerances for the outside distance between the circles.
    • Wall Thickness Two Circles
      • Outer and Inner circle — Select the circles between which you want to calculate the distances.
      • Minimum thickness — Enter the nominal and tolerances for the minimum wall thickness.
      • Maximum thickness — Enter the nominal and tolerances for the maximum wall thickness.
      • Average thickness — Enter the nominal and tolerances for the average wall thickness.
