Dimension dialog options reference

Descriptions of fields common to all dimension dialogs.

  • Name — Enter the name to be used in the inspection sequence, in the Report and Info tabs, and for referencing the dimension item.
  • Use nominals — Select this option to enter or change the item nominals, and to compare the item measurements to the nominal values. Deselect the option to disable comparisons with the item nominals. When you take the measurements, the following apply: an in-tolerance or out of tolerance indicator displays on the item's icon in the inspection sequence; the border of the item label is coloured to indicate whether the measurement is within tolerance; and the tolerance, nominal, deviation, and error values are calculated when the item is included in a report.

Note: To load the nominals from the CAD model, click and select From CAD Entity. To replace the nominals with the item's measurements in the current Measure, click the button and select From Active Measure .

  • Visible — Select to include the item in the CAD View.
  • Output in report — Select to include the item in the report.
  • Simple measures behaviour — Select to display the measurement details of the item in a separate dialog as soon as you have finished probing all the referenced items.
  • Hide sign information — Select to report the angle as an absolute value. Deselect to report the angle as a positive or negative value relative to the vector of the reference plane.
