Edit
The tools under the edit fly-out that allow you to add or remove portions to the mesh.
Slice and Fill
The Slice tool has two modes; fill and no fill. Clicking and dragging the plane in the canvas will slice the model where it meets the plane. You can flip the direction of the plane to choose which side is sliced off. If the plane that appears is not the desired plane, the Transform plane option will enable you to rotate the slicing plane about the X, Y, or Z axes. With the fill option selected, picking the Apply button will generate a surface that caps the opening created by the slice. The No fill option will not create a surface and will leave the model open.
Surface Tools
Two types of operation are used the Surface tools to perform edits to the model; sculpt and smooth.
Sculpt. The sculpt operations use a variable brush size, strength and a brush tip option you select (flat or rounded) from a pull-down to Push or Pull the mesh are you select it normal to its current position.
Smooth. The smooth operation uses brush size and strength to blend the mesh faces based on their previous positions.
Delete Selection
The Delete Selection option is only available when portions of the mesh have been selected.

Fill Holes
After starting the Fill holes tool the boundary of a hole will highlight as you move your cursor near to it. Once you've selected the hole you can choose whether the hole is filled with a flat mesh that spans the open edges or a smooth transition which will build a mesh face based on the surrounding mesh.
Smooth Boundary
An opening in the mesh can have it's edges smoothed by select the open edge with the Smooth boundary tool. Once the edge is selected, clicking the Apply button will reduce any jagged appearance of the mesh around the selected edge.
Bridge Gap
Bridge gap can build a flat or smooth transition across portions of mesh edges or openings. You will need to select portions of the mesh you wish to bridge then choose Flat or Smooth to create the new mesh. If you include more than two mesh areas in the selection the bridge will not be able to generate.
Extrude
After launching the Extrude tool choose the type of process you want to use and Select boundary button to choose the edge that you want to extrude. Selecting a portion of a loop will select all of it.
The direction of the extrusion is based on the normal direction of the plane. The orange arrow on the circular manipulators will show you the direction of the extrusion. You can drag the circular manipulators to establish the attitude of the plane.
It is important to note that when you are entering a value for the extrusion distance the plane preview will not automatically be repositioned. If you click on the plane, it will update the display of the plane. When all options are set, click the Extrude button to generate the new surface.
There is checkbox option to fill the end of the new extrusion if you want to close the new surfaces.
Flush to plane. The Flush to plane option will extrude the selected boundary until it is flush with the plane.
Offset from boundary. The offset from boundary option will use the original position of the boundary edges to limit the distance of the extrusion.
