Scans Are Processing

When you open an RCP file in ReCap Viewer to view Reality Capture data, you may see the prompt "Scans are processing." in the Notification Center. Here are the reasons why scans need processing:

Uploaded or published RCS and/or RCC Files are not processed

  • A major case is that RCS and RCC files published from ReCap Pro or manually uploaded to Autodesk Docs via the Desktop Connector are no longer automatically processed for viewing. For more information about the changes to viewing files uploaded by Desktop Connector, please refer to the [Desktop_Connector_Upload_Changes_FAQ] (https://help.autodesk.com/view/DOCS/ENU/?guid=Desktop_Connector_Upload_Changes_FAQ).
  • These files will begin processing when the associated RCP is opened from the Autodesk Docs web UI.
  • As an alternative, you can also manually kick off the process for viewing in two ways:

In Desktop Connector: After uploading to v16.15 or above, members can select one or multiple files, then use the right-click Create Viewable command to process the files for viewing. This option applies to files only, folders are not supported.

In Autodesk Docs: When clicking an unprocessed file, processing will start. Members can click the file again to enter the viewer to view the file. Members can also bulk process files by selecting multiple files and clicking Process.

How long will it take to process a ReCap file on demand?

Processing time depends on file type, size, and complexity.

  • About 80% RCS files are ready within one and a half minutes.
  • About 80% RCC files are ready within 30 seconds

RealView Files are Out of Date

  • RealView files may need upgrading to provide an optimized streaming experience.

Once the processing is complete, a "Reload Page" link will appear. Click it to reload the page and start working with the reality capture data in ReCap Viewer.
