Replace a drawing translation

Note: This function is only available to Tenant Administrators. This function only shows on items that contain a drawing.

It may be the case that a drawing translation (PDF or DWG) failed to upload during the latest check in. This means the latest translation version is behind the latest drawing version. To save you time from having to check everything back out again to regenerate a drawing translation and check it back in (and perhaps have it fail again), your Tenant Administrator can replace a missing translation with one uploaded from their computer.

To do this:

  1. Locate in the item in the BOM table and click the more actions icon item_actions_icon.png.

  2. Select Admin > Replace Translation.

The Translations dialog opens that shows each version of the drawing and the PDF and DWG translations associated with each version. If a drawing version does not have a translation, you may replace it with one from your computer.

  3. In the far right Action column, click the more actions icon item_actions_icon.png and select from:

    • Replace PDF
    • Replace DWG
  4. Locate the new translation file on your computer and click Open.

The chosen file is uploaded and renamed to match the naming convention of the previously uploaded translations. It is assigned a version number to match the drawing version number. Upchain indicates that the upload is successful and you may now close the Translations dialog.
