Select your desired project type from the drop-down list.
The Create new Project window opens.

The project is created but remains in a Draft state.
Read through the following table for more information about each field.

Manage a project's lifecycle with workflows
The lifecycle of a project is managed using a workflow. A workflow is a set of statuses and transitions that a project moves through during its lifecycle. A project always begins its lifecycle in a Draft state. However, the project must have an Active status so that its team members can upload data to it and create and start business processes. Once a project is finished, it may be set to Archived or Closed. The workflow determines what happens after the project is closed or archived, and the workflow may be configured by your Tenant Administrator.
Change a project's workflow
If you chose the incorrect workflow when you first created the project, you can change it before you start it. You may only change the workflow if it has not been started.
- Open the Project settings (
) at the bottom of the project sidebar.
- Click Edit.
- In the Project Workflow section, select a workflow from the Workflow drop-down list.
- Click Save.
Start a project workflow
When you’re ready to start working on a project, you need to initiate its workflow so that the project can be activated.
- Open the Project settings at the bottom of the project sidebar.
- In the Project Workflow section, click Start Workflow.
The project status is still in Draft.
Activate a project
After your project’s workflow has been started, you can activate the project. The project will remain in Draft until you activate it. It's important to note that as long as a project remains in Draft status, the project will be inaccessible within an Upchain plugin. Further, you won't be able to perform key actions within the project, such as releasing BOM items, until the project is in an Active state.
- Open the Project settings at the bottom of the project sidebar.
- In the Project Workflow section, click Activate.
The project status is now Active.
