Electronics libraries overview
The Fusion electronics libraries contain the components you need to create electronics designs. Public Fusion libraries are available to everyone, but you can also create hub libraries for your own use or to share with your team.
Each library component is a design object that consists of some, or all, of these different representations of the same object:
- Symbol: used in the schematics design document
- Footprint: used in the 2D PCB layout document
- 3D Package: used in the 3D PCB layout document
In addition to these different representations, a component may have multiple Variants that are alternative 2D and 3D representations of the same schematic symbol.

Public libraries
Public libraries, unless they are owned by you, are read-only and are supplied by or 3rd parties. You can use the components from these libraries in your designs, but you can't edit them. Public libraries are stored on library.io, an Autodesk server that facilitates remote access and sharing of libraries.
Hub libraries
If you want to edit a symbol, footprint, or package you must create a hub library in which to store them and edit them. You can create new components in a hub library and import components from other libraries. Hub library documents that you use in your design can be easily opened from your project folder in the data panel.
