Synchronize 2D and 3D PCB design documents
When you have a 3D PCB design in an enclosure, you may need to make changes to the layout to accommodate the enclosure.
Push to 2D PCB
If you have made changes to the 3D board that affect the 2D board, you can push the changes to the 2D board.
On the Electronics workspace 3D PCB document toolbar, click 3D PCB > Push to 2D PCB
to update the 2D board with changes from the 3D board.
On the 2D board design, you can see the new position of any components that you moved on the 3D board.
Note: If not created and linked already, a 2D PCB is created and linked to the 3D PCB when you push.
Push to 3D PCB
If you have made changes to the 2D board that affect the 3D board, you can push the changes to the 3D board.
On the Electronics workspace 2D PCB document Design toolbar, click Switch > Push to 3D PCB
.
On the Application toolbar, click Save
to save the changes to the 3D PCB.
Note: When you save the 3D PCB document, changes are pushed to the enclosure in design workspace, if applicable.
Resolve out-of-date references in the enclosure
When you save changes to a 3D PCB document for a board already inserted into its enclosure, you will need to resolve the out-of-date references.
Open the enclosure design document in the Design workspace.
Note: Yellow warning icons indicate out-of-date references. At the top of the Fusion window, on the Application toolbar, click the warning icon to automatically update to the latest version.
Note: If you don't see warnings that you are expecting, return to the 3D PCB document and save it.
