Select a material for an injection molding simulation study
Select a material
When you create a study, a default material is assigned.
On the Setup tab, click Materials > Study Materials
.
The Study Materials dialog opens.
Tip: You can access the Study Materials dialog from the browser. Expand a Study node, mouse over the Materials node and then clickSearch for a desired material using the search box and/or filters.
Click the row containing the material data.
Tip: To view the material properties, double-click the material row.Click Select.
You selected the material for your study. You can quickly display its data in the Study Materials dialog by clicking Recents
under Browse.
Search for a material
On the Setup tab, click Materials > Study Materials
.
The Study Materials dialog opens.
In the search box, enter the Manufacturer name, Trade Name, or Family Abbreviation and press Enter.
You can search by several criteria. Press Enter after adding each key word.
To search for materials that meet specific requirements in terms of properties or processing, use filters.
Tip: To view all filters, click Expand all to the right of Filters.Apply filters by selecting checkboxes, icons, or specifying range limits.
Under the Manufacturer and Family abbreviation filters, click Select all
or Clear selection
to select or deselect all filters.
Click Clear all, to the right of Filters, to deselect all filters.
Set a default material
On the Setup tab, click Materials > Study Materials
.
The Study Materials dialog opens.
In the list view, click
in the last column.
A context menu opens.
Select Set as default
.
Add materials to Favorites
On the Setup tab, click Materials > Study Materials
.
The Study Materials dialog opens.
In the list view, click
in the last column.
A context menu opens.
Select Add to Favorites
.
You can quickly display favorite materials, by clicking Favorites
under Browse.
Customize the Study Materials dialog
In the default list view, click Select columns
heading to select columns.
Click
in the top right of the dialog to select a grid view.
Click
in the top right of the dialog to change the current settings.
In the Rows per page box, at the bottom of the dialog, select a number of rows to be displayed on a page.
