You can add a bridge only to a selected design road. You use sliders in-canvas to specify the start and end station locations of the bridge and thus determine its length.
Bridge start and end station locations are defined by the order in which you draw out the bridge (using the sliders), relative to the design road.
- A bridge start station is closest to the
road startpoint.
- When looking from the start station to the end station of a bridge, girder group, or girder, the positive lateral direction of an offset is to the right.
Add a bridge
- Sketch a design road or select a design road.
Note: Convert a planning road to a design road using the right-click context menu.
- Do one of the following:
- Use the sliders that appear on the design road. Click once to set the start station. Click again to place the end station of the bridge structure. Alternatively, input exact values into the dialog box that appears for the Start and End Stations, then press Enter to finish.

Additional tips
InfraWorks 360 will add a bridge to a design road by default when a design road is sketched over a body of water. The Autogenerated property is set to True for the bridge when this occurs. See
To edit bridge properties for more information.
