To add or modify bridges

You can add a bridge only to a selected design road. You use sliders in-canvas to specify the start and end station locations of the bridge and thus determine its length.

Bridge start and end station locations are defined by the order in which you draw out the bridge (using the sliders), relative to the design road.

Add a bridge

  1. Sketch a design road or select a design road.
Note: Convert a planning road to a design road using the right-click context menu.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click on the design road to open the context menu, then click Add Bridge.
    • Click and select a bridge style.
Note: When you select a bridge style without a design road previously selected, InfraWorks 360 will highlight available design roads. Click on a design road to set start and end stations.
  3. Use the sliders that appear on the design road. Click once to set the start station. Click again to place the end station of the bridge structure. Alternatively, input exact values into the dialog box that appears for the Start and End Stations, then press Enter to finish.

Modify the length of a bridge

Modify the length of a bridge by changing the start and end station locations.

  1. Select the bridge.
  2. Click in the Utility Bar to enter Edit mode.
  3. Drag-and-drop the start or end stations along the path of the design road to modify the length of the bridge.
  4. Note: Alternately, input exact new values for the Start and End Stations:
    • Select the bridge and enter Edit mode.
    • Input new values for the stations into the Bridge asset card, then press Enter to finish.

Additional tips

InfraWorks 360 will add a bridge to a design road by default when a design road is sketched over a body of water. The Autogenerated property is set to True for the bridge when this occurs. See To edit bridge properties for more information.
