Shading and Rendering XGen Primitives

You can customize your XGen hair shader network by creating custom shader parameters and adding file textures and ramps textures. With custom shader parameters and XGen shading nodes, you can add any standard Maya material to shade hair grooms or card and sphere primitives.

By default, the xgen_hair_physical shader is assigned to the XGen Descriptions. For information, see the mental ray Help topic "mental ray XGen hair physical".
