Use this command to easily align cut symbols on drawings using a reference symbol.
When created automatically, cut view symbols will position themselves next to the main element, avoiding collisions with other annotations, but independent of the position of other cut symbols from the same drawing. A usual manual edit on drawings is to align cut view symbols along a single direction. The Align cut view symbols to a reference symbol command aligns all the cut symbols from one side, using a reference symbol. This eases the cut symbol arrangement and ensures that the cut symbols will not move during drawing update.
To access the command:
- Go to Label & Dimensions tab Parametric Views panel.
- Expand the Parametric Views panel.
- Click
(Align cut view symbols to a reference symbol).
The command has two available options:
-
To align all cut symbols to a selected reference symbol: The command is set by default on this option. This option will prompt you to select a reference symbol to which all the other cut symbols located on the same side will align.
-
To align only a selection of cut symbols to the reference symbol: This option is intended to be used on general arrangement drawings, but it can be used on assembly drawings as well. This option will prompt you to:
- Select a reference cut symbol.
- Select one or several cut symbols to align to the reference cut symbol.
Note: The command will align only the cut symbols that belong to the current view and are on the same side as the reference cut symbol.
