Use the Solid Tools tab to perform various edits on a solid:
- Select a solid to edit.
The tab is displayed.
- Choose from the following options to edit the solid:

Tree — Click this button to control the display of the solid tree. The solid tree window is hidden by default.

Active — Toggle the button to activate or deactivate the solid.
- Solid Doctor:

Solid Doctor — To find and fix faults in Parasolid models.
Note: If the solid is a
PowerShape solid (version 8 solid), the
Make Watertight wizard is displayed.

Heal — Click this button to heal or loosen edges in the solid using the
Solid Doctor Healing dialog.

Face — Select this button and select an individual face of a solid. Use this option with box selection to select faces that are completely inside the selection box.

Continuous — Select this button to highlight faces that are continuous with the selected face.

Concave — Select this button and click a face in the solid to select all the faces in the concave region of the face.

Convex — Select this button and click a face in the solid to select all the faces in the convex region of the face.

Feature — Select this button and click the solid to select the feature.
- Discrete Lasso — Select this button to select faces of the solid by drawing a lasso around the required faces. The cursor changes to
to show that you can complete the lasso. After making the selection, move the mouse over the selected faces to highlight the single faces.
- Continuous Lasso — Select this button to select faces of the solid by drawing a lasso around the required faces. After making the selection, move the mouse over the selected faces to highlight the single faces.
- Smart Feature — Click this button to display the
Smart Feature Selector dialog.
- Color — Select this button and click a colored solid face to select all the faces that are the same color.
- Copy — Click this button and select one or more faces to create surface copies.
- Extract — Click this button and select one or more faces to create surface copies and remove them from the solid.
- Sew — Click this button to display the
Sew dialog. Use this dialog to append surfaces or solids to the selected solid (this option is available for Parasolid models only).

Remove — Click this button to remove the selected faces and close the gap by modifying the surrounding faces. This option is part of Direct Modeling functionality.

Merge — Click this button to merge selected faces of a solid into one face.

Divide — Click this button to divide the faces of the selected solid using wireframe.

Replace — Click this button to use the
Replace Faces dialog to select faces of a solid, and replace them with other existing faces or surfaces.

Draft — Click this button, to display the
Draft Faces dialog. This option is part of Direct Modeling functionality.
- Convert:
- To Surfaces — Click this button to convert one or more solids to surfaces.
- To Mesh — Click this button to convert one or more solids to meshes.

To Solid — Click this button to divide an existing solid into separate solids.
Note: Use
to add/remove a face from the selection, and
to add a face to the selection.
