Place Anchors along a Steel Element

Sketch rectangular or circular anchor patterns to place anchors on a structural element in 3D or plan views.

To place anchors

1. Click Steel tab Fabrication Elements panel (Anchors).
2. In the drawing area, select the steel elements to connect.
   Note: Use Ctrl + click to select multiple elements.
3. Select the element face to which the anchor pattern will be perpendicular.
4. Click Modify | Create Anchor tab Draw panel and select either:
   • (Rectangle) or
   • (Circle)
5. Sketch the shape of the anchor pattern on the element face.
   
6. Click Modify | Create Anchor tab Mode panel (Finish Edit Mode).
   
   The anchors are created perpendicular to the selected face of the element, in the current work plane and view, according to the sketched contour.

   Note: Anchors are only visible when the Detail Level of the view is set to Fine.
