Place Bolts Along a Steel Element

Sketch rectangular or circular bolt patterns to place bolts on a structural element in 3D or plan views.

To place bolts

1. Click Steel tab Fabrication Elements panel (Bolts).
2. In the drawing area, select the steel elements to connect.
   Note: Use Ctrl + click to select multiple elements.
3. Press Enter to complete the selection.
4. Select the element face to which the bolt pattern will be perpendicular.
5. Click Modify | Create Bolt Pattern tab Draw panel and select either:
   • (Rectangle) or
   • (Circle)
6. Sketch the shape of the bolt pattern on the element face.
   
7. Click Modify | Create Bolt Pattern tab Mode panel (Finish Edit Mode).
   
   The bolts are created perpendicular to the selected face of the element, in the current work plane and view, according to the sketched contour.

   Note: Bolts are only visible when the Detail Level of the view is set to Fine.
