Place Holes along a Steel Element

Sketch rectangular or circular hole patterns to place holes on a structural element in 3D or plan views.

To place holes

1. Click Steel tab Fabrication Elements panel (Holes).
2. Select the element face to which the hole pattern will be perpendicular.
3. Click Modify | Create Hole Pattern tab Draw panel and select either:
   • (Rectangle) or
   • (Circle)
4. Sketch the shape of the hole pattern on the element face.
   
5. Click Modify | Create Hole Pattern tab Mode panel (Finish Edit Mode).
   
   The holes are created perpendicular to the selected face of the element, in the current work plane and view, according to the sketched contour.

   Note: Holes are only visible when the Detail Level of the view is set to Fine.
