Real-time Physics

We added rigid body simulation directly into VRED to experience real-time Physics and bring virtual prototypes to life. Interact with objects naturally, simulate realistic collisions, gravity, and dynamics directly in your scene, and add a new dimension of interaction to your visualization workflow.

Gaussian Splat and Point Cloud

In VRED 2027, we've introduced point cloud support along with Gaussian Splat file compatibility, enabling more efficient creation, processing, and rendering of 3D models. These enhancements deliver smaller file sizes, faster loading times, and higher‑quality visual results.

Live Reference

In VRED 2027, you can now send new or updated materials, annotations, view variants, and Clipping Contours directly to Alias. These Live Reference enhancements further streamline collaboration between visualization designers and digital sculptors.

XR Improvements

VRED 2027 modernizes the XR experience with an intuitive one-handed main menu that can follow your view or remain fixed in space, as well as enhanced XR collaboration with customizable and user-imported avatars. Alias users can now launch VR and XR sessions directly from Alias using VRED Presenter and VRED XR, making XR exploration and collaboration faster and more accessible.

VRED Library

Discover five new 3D environments in the VRED Library, each designed to showcase a vehicle at the center of the scene. These environments are fully optimized for Vulkan and raytracing and range in size from 700 MB to 2.5 GB.

Vulkan Improvements

VRED 2027 introduces Vulkan multi‑GPU support for XR, enabling VR HMD setups to render left and right eye views on separate graphics cards. This capability also extends to Left/Right and Top/Bottom split stereo rendering modes. You’ll also find auxiliary node rendering improvements for more consistent visualization in Display Cluster setups, along with additional enhancements.

General Improvements

New file export options now let you exclude physics and constraint attachments when exporting VPB/OSB files. Additional enhancements include a Search bar in the Terminal, a Log Files option in the Help menu, interface improvements to Camera Editor Blending frames, as well as various scripting enhancements and updates to the Material SDK.
