Create a detail view

Learn how to create a detail view on a sheet in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.

  1. Select Create > Detail View detail view icon.

  2. Select a base view, projected view, or section view on the current sheet as the parent view.

    The Drawing View dialog displays.

  3. Click a point on the parent view to place the center point of the detail boundary.

  4. Drag the cursor away from the center point to adjust the size of the detail boundary and location of the identifier, then click to place them.

  5. Click to place the detail view on the sheet.

  6. In the Drawing View dialog, adjust the Appearance settings:

    • Style: Select a display style.
      • From Parent
      • Visible Edges
      • Visible and Hidden Edges
      • Shaded
      • Shaded with Hidden Edges
    • Scale: Select a scale.
    • Name: Enter an identifier, if needed.
  7. Adjust the Edge Visibility settings:

    • Tangent Edges: Select a display style for tangent edges.
      • Full Length
      • Shortened
      • Off
    • Interference Edges: Check to display interference edges.
    • Thread Edges: Check to display threaded edges.
  8. Select OK.

The detail view displays on the current sheet.
