Display hotkeys

If a shortcut entry is blank in the shortcut table it means that there is currently no shortcut assigned to the action, but it is available for reassignment. See Customize keyboard shortcuts for information on how to reassign keys for different actions.

Lock/Unlock Layout

When on, the Mudbox layout stays locked in its current configuration. When off, you can drag tools and windows to rearrange the Mudbox interface to suit your workflows. See Create a custom layout.

Hide Selected H H Hides the active model.
Hide All Curves Ctrl + H Command + Shift + H Hides all curves.
Show Selected Ctrl + U Command + U Operates on selected models.
Show All U U Displays all faces and models in the scene.
Flat Lighting Shift + L Shift + L Toggles the display of Flat Lighting mode.
Wireframe W W Toggles the wireframe display.
Toggle Full Wireframe
Show Both Sides Shift + B Shift + B Displays faces on the model as double or single-sided.
Light Direction

L + drag

L + right-drag

L + drag to rotate the active light relative to its current position.

L + right-drag to immediately rotate the light to point from the location you click.

When multiple lights exist in the view, only the selected light is affected.

Toggle Light Ctrl + L Command + L

Toggles the display of lighting that illuminates models in the 3D View. Turn off lighting to view models as black silhouettes. (Hotkey: Ctrl + L)

Open Color chooser window Opens the Color Chooser window.
Toggle Gradient Background

Toggles the display of the gradient background in the 3D View.

Toggle Grid Display

Toggles the display of the grid in the 3D View.

Toggle Mesh Error Display

Off by default, but turns on automatically if Mudbox detects issues with the mesh as you import an .obj or .fbx file, complete a retopology operation, delete faces from a mesh, or select Edit > Validate Meshes.

When toggled on, Mesh Errors checks all meshes in the scene for problems, displays error messages that let you keep or discard any detected problematic meshes, and toggles the display of red highlighting on the problem areas. Turn Mesh Errors off to hide the red highlighting. See also Highlight problem areas on a mesh.

Toggles the direction of the tool cursor display (in the

3D View) along the normal of the face under the center of the cursor ring.

Toggle Viewcube display Shoes or hides the Viewcube.
