Define the Nonlinear Setup

We need to adjust the nonlinear settings for time incrementation and result output frequency.

The Advanced Settings are used to control the stiffness update method, the frequency of stiffness updates, the number of allowable iterations for each increment, the convergence criteria, and the maximum number of divergence conditions per iteration. These properties are set in order to take advantage of the convergence capabilities of the Helius PFA solver.

  1. Double-click Nonlinear Setup 1 in the tree.
  2. Adjust the Number of Increments to 100 to apply the displacement load on the top surface of the coupon over 100 increments.
  3. Change Intermediate Output to All to save results at every converged increment.
  4. Click OK to close the Nonlinear setup dialog.
Note: This step is critical. If this step is not completed in Nastran In-CAD, Advanced Material Exchange will produce an incomplete Nastran input file. Refer to Appendix A of the Advanced Material Exchange User's Guide to learn more about the specific settings.
