Release Status

The release status feature allows the product manufacturer or an authorized person from the organization to control the status of product releases. With this feature, you can manage and track the lifecycle of your product releases.

  1. Product Definition List: The product definition list provides an overview of all published product definitions that are available for use. This list serves as a reference for understanding the different versions or variations of your product.
  2. Product Releases: The product releases section displays a list of product release statuses. Here, you can view the current status of each release, whether it is active or obsolete. This information helps you track and manage the availability of your product releases.
  3. Product Release Details: When you select a specific product release from the list, you can access the product release details. This summary provides more in-depth information about the selected release, such as its version number, release date, and any relevant notes or updates.
  4. Update Status Button: To modify the status of a product release, you can use the update status button. By clicking on this button, you can change the release status from active to obsolete or vice versa. This feature allows you to control the visibility and availability of your product releases based on your business needs.

Update Release Status

The update release status feature allows you to control the availability of product definition release statuses within the Revit software. By updating the release status, you can determine whether a specific product definition is accessible for placement within your design model.

Active Status: When a release status is set as active, the corresponding product definition is available for Revit users to place within their design model. This means that you can use the product definition in your current project and incorporate it into your design.

Obsolete Status: If a release status is set as obsolete, the associated product definition is no longer available for Revit users to place within their design model. This means that the product definition is considered outdated or not recommended for use in new projects.

Note: It is important to understand that switching the release status to obsolete does not automatically remove or highlight any previously placed Revit families that were defined with that specific release status. Therefore, it's essential to carefully manage and update the release status based on your project requirements.
