Generating Outputs
This feature enables users to select instances placed into the Revit design model and generate the necessary outputs for manufacturing, including bill of materials (BoM), drawings, and model outputs. By utilizing this web-based application, you can streamline the journey from design to manufacture, resulting in increased efficiency, reduced errors, and minimized rework.
Product Selections
When viewing the Revit model in the Informed Design Web Application, you have the option to select the type of product definition for the generated Revit family instances within the model. By selecting from the drop-down menu, you can see a list of how many instances were placed and choose which ones you want to generate outputs for.
Once you have selected the desired product definitions type and variants, follow the steps below to generate outputs using the software solution:
- Review Product Information: Before generating outputs, you can review the product information preview and model to ensure accuracy.
- Switch to Outputs Tab: Click on the "Generate Outputs" icon to switch to the Outputs tab.
Define Output File Types: In the Outputs tab, you will find options to define the output file types required. The following options are available:
- Release Status: This indicates the current release status of the selected product definition.
- File Types: Choose from the defined file types that were set when publishing the product definition from Inventor.
- Upload Location: Click on the "Browse" icon to then select the required Autodesk Construction Cloud Account, then project and folder location where you want to generate the chosen file types.
Start the Generation Process: Once you have defined the output file types and selected the upload location, click on the "Generate" button to start the generation process.
Edit Assignment: If you realize that your selection is not correct, you can edit the assignment. Simply click on the "Edit Assignment" option and select a new product definition and/or variants.
