Snap modes for Solids windows (PartMaker)

Solids snap modes are available in a Solids window when you define a toolpath profile on a solid model.

The following solids snap modes are available:

XY Coordinates Solid snap mode (ZX for Turning) — Use this snap mode to specify a location using X,Y coordinates.

You can use incremental coordinates by typing the @ sign in front of X or Y. For example, if the previous point was created at (2,2) and you enter @3 for the X coordinate PartMaker creates the next point at (5,2).

Note: For turning, this snap mode specifies a location using Z, X coordinates.

Face Plane snap mode — Use this snap mode to define a point by selecting a location on the face plane corresponding to the cursor location on the screen.

Edge Endpoint snap mode — Use this snap mode to specify a profile point on the solid, by selecting the endpoint of an edge on the solid model.

Center snap mode — Use this snap mode to define a profile point on the solid by selecting the center of an arc edge, sphere center, or either end of a cylinder or cone.

Edge Midpoint snap mode — Use this snap mode to specify a profile point on the solid, by clicking on the midpoint of an edge belonging to the solid model.

Horizontal constraint — Use this snap mode to select a profile point on the solid model using one of the available constraint modes, but restrict its positioning by allowing no change in vertical position of the Face Plane coordinate system.

Vertical constraint — Use this snap mode to select a profile point on the solid model using one of the available constraint modes but restrict its positioning by allowing no change in horizontal position of the Face Plane coordinate system.
