Project Preferences

Fonts tab

Use the list in the Fonts tab to define a set of fonts to be used with the Type tool for your project.

There are two main benefits to using project-based fonts:

  • Find them easily in the Project tab of the Select Font widget.
  • Replace a font and have the change applied to all instances of the Type tool using this font.
Note: Rendered Type Timeline FXs are unrendered when a project font is changed.

Project Fonts list

List of the project fonts. Click an empty row to add a project font. Click a selected row to replace a project font. Use the buttons below to manage them.

Add

Click to add a project font. The project font is added to the first empty slot.

Change

Click to replace the selected project font with a new one. This causes all the Type tool instances to replace their use of the selected project font with the new one.

Clear

Click to clear the selected project font. Instances of the Type tool that are using the font keep using it, but the link to the project font is now broken: the Type tools now use the font path from the file system.

Clear All

Click to clear all project fonts. Instances of the Type tool that are using these fonts keep using them, but the links to the project fonts are now broken: the Type tools now use the font paths from the file system.

Rendering tab

Hardware AA option

Select a hardware anti-aliasing sampling level to accelerate edge anti-aliasing with no performance penalty in all instances of Action, GMask Tracer, Image, GMask, Text, and Type. Available values are dependent on your graphics card.

Output Precision option

Select whether to output in 16-bit or 32-bit precision in all instances of Action, GMask Tracer, Image, Distort, GMask, Text, and Type. The latter can degrade the application's performance as it uses more memory.

System Preferences

Storage Tab

The Used section shows the amount of content of the project in GB or TB, in frames, and in time. The value in GB or TB shows the actual size of the content in the Media Cache location defined for the project. This includes cached media, audio waveforms, and MIO metadata files. The value for Frame and Time shows the total amount of cached and uncached content allocated for the project.

The Show Volume Statistics option has been deprecated.

Flush Purgeable Media

When deleting content, unreferenced media is deleted in the next Autosave loop. Click Flush Purgeable Media to definitely delete unreferenced content.

Note: This operation can also be performed from the Media section of a Workspace's context menu and using the Flush Purgeable Media keyboard shortcut.
