Permeable Zones (2D) Results Data Fields

Results are available for Permeable Zones (2D) objects.

All results fields are displayed on the results grid and on the network results Property Sheet while viewing a replay of a simulation.

Time varying results are shown with the field name in an alternate colour on the grid. Non-time varying results have the field name in the normal black type.

Time Varying

AVGINFRATE2D

Average infiltration volume rate.

Calculated as (CUMINFVOL2D(t+1)-CUMINFVOL2D(t)) / (results_timestep)

Q AVGINFRATE2D True
CUMINF2D

Cumulative infiltration.

Calculated as CUMINFVOL2D / (Area of Permeable Zone 2D object in m2)

Y CUMINF2D True
CUMINFVOL2D Cumulative infiltration volume. VO CUMINFVOL2D True
INFVOLRATE2D Instantaneous infiltration rate.

This rate provides a value at a specific timestep rather than the average value between reporting timesteps. In some cases, these timesteps are very small, especially before a major save/gauge timestep, and can produce unrealistic results at a particular timestep, which may appear as spurious spikes in graphs. For example:

Q INFVOLRATE2D True
MAXINFVOLRATE2D Maximum instantaneous infiltration rate. Q MAXINFVOLRATE2D False
MININFVOLRATE2D Minimum instantaneous infiltration rate. Q MININFVOLRATE2D False
Area in 2D Zone

The actual area of the 2D elements associated with the Permeable Zone (2D) used by the simulation engine to perform the calculations.

Each permeable zone has an Area property however, this area may not be the same as the one included in the calculations if the:

  • boundaries of a permeable zone are excluded from meshing
  • permeable zone being meshed contains any voids
  • permeable zone is partially located outside of a 2D Zone
NA ZONE_AREA2D False
