To open an on-premise standalone database as a guest

  1. Choose OpenOpen another database from the File menu. The Open/Create dialog is displayed.
  2. Click the Standalone image. The Open/Create dialog closes and the Open Standalone Database dialog is displayed.

    In this dialog:

  3. Click Browse. This displays a standard Windows file Open dialog.
  4. Choose the database file (with an ICMM extension) and then click Open.
  5. Click OK when finished.

The database tree of the selected on-premise or cloud guest database is displayed in an Explorer Window.

Select New Explorer window from the Window menu to display the database tree of the current Database.

Items can now be copied between the guest database and current database. See the Copying Data Between Databases topic for details.

Note:

  • A database version earlier than v2.0 must be updated before it can be opened as guest.
  • An older version database that is newer than v2.0 may be opened read-only and items copied from the guest database to the current database without the need for updating. Prompts will be displayed as appropriate.
