Delete a Database

On-premise databases

A workgroup database cannot be deleted directly from InfoWorks ICM. This reduces the chance of databases being lost accidentally.

To delete a Standard database, use the standard Windows procedures. The database is made up of:

  • A basic index file with a .icmm extension.
  • A data subdirectory of the directory where the .icmm file is located containing the database data. The directory name is the same as the database identifier.

To delete an Oracle or SQL Server database use the tools supplied with SQL Server/Oracle. Speak to the administrator of the database server.

InfoWorks ICM includes an option for deleting database items from the current database. The deleted on-premise database items will remain in the Recycle Bin until you empty the bin, or restore or delete the items.

Cloud databases

A cloud database cannot be deleted directly from InfoWorks ICM. This reduces the chance of databases being lost accidentally.

If you have suitable privileges, cloud databases can be deleted using the dedicated Info360 Model Management web portal, which is accessed using the Cloud database management option in the FileDatabase management menu. Deleted cloud databases are normally stored for 30 days and can be restored any time during the 30 days. After 30 days, they are automatically deleted permanently from the cloud.
