Permissions and Competitive Data

The Permissions option is available to the owner or Admin of a fabrication MEP configuration. Use this option when you want to view a list of users and their permissions for the current configuration. You can also add users and assign them as Contributors to or Viewers of the MEP fabrication content in a configuration.

When you upload an MEP fabrication configuration, you are considered the owner of that configuration and are automatically assigned the Admin permission. As the Admin, you can add users to the configuration and assign them a Contributor or Viewer permission.

Contributors can edit a configuration. Contributors cannot delete a configuration or add other users to a configuration. Typically, a BIM Manager or someone who uses the Autodesk Fabrication Products is assigned as a Contributor for a configuration. Multiple contributors can be assigned to a configuration, allowing for greater collaboration.

Viewers can view the MEP fabrication content in a configuration through the Fabrication Parts Browser in Revit. Viewers cannot edit a configuration.
