To export slices

Saving slice data for your follow-up workflow outside Netfabb

  1. Select the slice stack or stacks you wish to export.
  2. From the menu, choose Export and then the desired slice file format.
  3. In the appearing Export dialog, adjust the values and settings as needed. Most importantly, specify a location to save the slice file.
  4. Click Export to complete the process.
Note: You can only overwrite existing files that are not in use by any running processes, including Netfabb itself. By default, to save on memory, only those content sections of an imported slice file are loaded which you are currently working on. Meaning, the file remains locked against writing even to Netfabb as exporting is not the same as saving and is always meant to technically create a new file.

To always load the entire slice contents during import and to release the file lock, allowing export with overwriting slice files you opened in Netfabb, switch Settings > Settings > Slice Commander > Release loaded slice files to a higher value, including Always.
