Comparing two meshes reference

Jump to:

Comparison setup

Reference

The part to be used as the original. Measurement originates on this part.

Comparison

The part where measurement should end at.

Compare Direction

Choose to run the comparison for both directions or only for one of either.

Note: For bidirectional analysis, the parts will be cloned and the clones' mesh will be refined until suitable. This only changes the mesh resolution; the shape will remain unchanged.

Align Meshes

Attempts to match similar asymmetries between part axes.

Switch

Flip the selection of Reference and Comparison

Results controls

Tolerance

Sets a threshold. Distances below this value are deemed ok (colored green), distances beyond are colored according to their signed direction (red or blue).

Color Gradient

Toggles smoothing between extremes.

Enable Triangle Highlighting

Highlights the triangle grid with black lines.

Highlight Edges

Highlights features dependent on the threshold with yellow lines.

Transparency

Toggles transparency to allow examining features below the outermost surface.

Additionally, on the Bar Chart tab, you can mark bars in a histogram to affect the coloring of the results.
