When selecting the Rod option under Type on the Connector form, the following sections are available:
- Add To Analysis: This checkbox automatically puts this rod connector under Connectors in the current Analysis branch of the tree.
- Connector Element: Allows multiple rod elements to be defined within the current
Connector Name.
- You select two end points of the connector.
Rod Element Internal Forces and Moments
- You select two end points of the connector.
- Display Options: Allows you to edit the display options of the rod connector.
- A: Cross sectional area definition box.
- J: Polar moment of inertia definition box.
- C: Stress recovery location definition box.
- NSM: Non-Structural Mass definition box. You can define additional mass that does not add stiffness.
- The formula used to compute torsional stress is:
where T is the torsional moment.
- Materials: Must select a material from the drop-down list.
