Connect Objects

Connections form the links between objects, facilitating the transportation of materials and parts between sources, processors, and buffers, in the order required to produce an end product.

Establish a connection between your objects

To connect your objects:

  1. Select the port (arrow) on the object.
  2. Drag from one port to another port.

  3. Change the shape of a connection by clicking anywhere along the line to create a handle, and then drag the handle to create the desired shape.

  4. To remove a handle, select it and press Delete.

Connection settings

Click once on a connection to view its settings:

  • Name: The connection name
  • Start and End: The names of the starting port and ending port. These settings are view-only.
  • Load Time: The elapsed time until an export occurs from a port and onto a connection.
  • Unload Time: The elapsed time to import items from a connection and onto a target port.
  • Transportation Time: The elapsed travel time between an export port and a target port.
  • Lot Size: The number of items to include in each batch.
  • Capacity: The maximum number of lots that can move on the connection at the same time.

To flip the direction that a connection flows, right-click on an object and then choose Flip Operation Ports.
